Q: What's meaningful to you about being an artist?
A: When I paint, the world is alive. Energy becomes visible. I get to play seriously in a world where my insides meet the outside world. It is like being on a frontier of self-awareness and awareness of "other."I get to learn and grow every time I paint - in the beginning, in the middle and in the end of a piece of work. Not knowing the outcome is exciting and risky, and it requires great vulnerability, great persistence, and great love.
